Spending an evening with Bob Lewis (better known as Tumbleweed Smith) is all about oral history and story telling. He serves as a wonderful example of the value of story telling in every day situations. Our stories have meaning beyond the fact that we sit fascinated while we listen or read about peoples adventures in humanity.
Bob has taken the many interviews he has recorded and reduced them down to his radio show format and kept the human gems that he finds. Story Chip hopes to do something very similar. This site does not pretend to be the carefully documented oral history interview that you can find in many places. We also do not aspire to the quality of editing and care that Tumbleweed takes with the Sound of Texas.
We hope that Story Chip will become a home for the meaning of our stories; a place where we can touch each other and strive for understanding of how life was and what it has become.
