When I first met Chuck Hamsa, he was delighting children with his demonstration of twisting string into rope while his wife Sara fretted that he was so involved that he was not eating or drinking enough water. When he wasn't making rope, it was helium balloons or telling the wonderful stories of his life in Louisiana. Chuck is Santa Claus for Austin Steam Trains Christmas rides with Santa Claus largely because he needs no make up and just the padded costume to create the perfect image of St. Nick. He and Sara are a charming couple who will spin stories of their lives with enormous joy. The difficult part for Story Chip is getting him to slow down long enough to record them for our pages.
